Daughter of the Pirate King

By: Tricia Levenseller

Grade: B+

Alosa is the badass (she’ll totally tell you that) daughter of the pirate King who allows herself to be captured by an enemy ship in order to pull of a heist for her father. A Lady Jack Sparrow according to the cover blurb save for the fact I definitely don’t think we were supposed to find Jack Sparrow to be the greatest thing going.

Spoilers below for this one. Though I got to say the title of the sequel spoiled it for me so be careful looking that up!

Dunkirk

Dunkirk Title Card

Dunkirk

Directed by: Christopher Nolan

Grade: B+

Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors around so I had to see Dunkirk. It’s also not a story I’m very familiar with although I knew what it was about- the evacuation of British troops from Dunkirk as France falls to the Nazi’s. A lot of the evacuation tended to fall on civilian boats and people as the situation became more and more desperate.

Thoughts on Comic-Con Trailers

Stranger Things 2

Stranger Things Season 2┬ámay very well be my favorite trailer out of comic-con. I love those kids. The use of Thriller was just awesome. I’m in love with the Halloween atmosphere. I mean I was super-psyched after the Super Bowl Tease. I just can’t decide whether I’m going to binge this one or try to spread it out and savor it when it finally drops.

Luckily you don’t really need to.

Spiderman Homecoming: Spoilers!!!

Spiderman Homecoming

Spiderman Homecoming

Directed by: Jon Watts

Grade: B

Spiderman Homecoming opens right after the events of the first Avengers movie and then jumps to Peter’s adventures during Civil War. Even though this is a Peter Parker movie through and through the Marvel Universe definitely looms large and I think is an added benefit and one of my favorite parts of the movie.
